The program is Certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence in all eight specialty training areas that form the core of the program's curriculum. Students completing the training sequence in each of the specialties learn skills which meet ASE industry standards. Each student also has the opportunity to take the ASE exams. |

AST at SPC offers two, one year
certificates of proficiency which are attained upon successful completion of the technical training courses as outlined in the college catalog. Also, an
Associate of Applied Science degree is granted upon successful completion of an additional 21 hours of general academic courses.

is also very excited to announce the
Seamless Automotive Technology Program in partnership with the College of Mechanical
Engineering at Texas Tech University. Students can begin
automotive training in high school, transfer credits to South Plains
College, then continue their automotive training toward a BSME
