SPC Starts Junior Texan Club
South Plains College is giving kids a chance to be a part of the Texans and Lady Texans basketball program by joining the Junior Texan Club. The Junior Texan Club is focused on providing younger South Plains College fans with opportunities to attend SPC sporting events, meet SPC players and coaches, interact with other young fans, and expose them to college athletics.
Members of the Junior Texan Club will receive a special Kids Club T-Shirt, a basketball media guide, an SPC basketball pocket schedule, a season pass to all SPC home games, an opportunity to be a ballboy or ballgirl, photo opportunities with players and cheerleaders, introduction at an SPC home game, and free team email updates. Club members will also have their own seating section at home basketball games.
"We think this is a great opportunity for kids in the area to get to know our players and coaches and see how much hard work goes into being a college athlete," said SPC athletic director Joe Tubb. "It should also be a lot of fun for kids to come to our games and watch some really good basketball while cheering hard for the Texans and Lady Texans. At the same time, it is a way for our student-athletes to give something back to the local communities that support us so well."
The Junior Texan Club is for kids ages 6-13 and cost of membership is $15. Entry forms can be picked up at the SPC Athletic Department office in the west end of the Texan Dome. Information and an entry form can also be found on the SPC athletics website at www.spctexans.com.
