Two Texans Sign With Four-Year Schools
A pair of South Plains College men's basketball players recently made decisions about where they wanted to continue their athletic and academic careers.
SPC sophomore Luciano de Souza (Brazil) signed a letter of intent with the University of San Diego, while fellow sophomore Lu Griffin (Greenville, SC) signed with Stephen F. Austin State University.
De Souza (6-6, wing) averaged 5.0 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in 2006-07 for the Texans. He had a season-high of 12 points and 10 rebounds against Clarendon College.
Griffin (6-5, forward) averaged 5.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game last season for the Texans. He scored a season-high 18 points against Pima (AZ) and pulled down 19 rebounds against New Mexico Junior College.
