Texans Stay Unbeaten With Win Over Collin
Four players scored in double figures as the South Plains College Texans improved to 7-0 with a 79-69 win over the Collin County Cougars Saturday in the final game of the Texan Classic in Levelland.
The SPC defense forced Collin into 20 turnovers and scored 28 points off those turnovers. The game was back and forth in the first half with the Texans taking a 37-34 lead into halftime.
Nick Okorie led South Plains with 19 points, while Jonathan Hall added 12 and David Tairu and Hugh Mingo each had 10. Also for SPC, Luciano de Souza and Landon Tatum both scored 8, Lu Griffin added 6, Carlos Dos Santos had 4 and Ladarius Hall scored 2.
For Collin, Drew Allen scored 11 and Kendrell Thompson added 10.
The Texans will play in the Collin Thanksgiving Classic this Friday and Saturday in Plano.
