SPC Men Drop Second Straight
SNYDER – Western Texas College scored 59 second-half points en route to a 92-78 win over No. 9 South Plains College Thursday in Snyder.
South Plains (20-3 overall, 8-3 conference) had a good offensive second half as well, scoring 49 points, but it wasn't enough as the Westerners shot a blazing 69 percent in the second half and went 18 of 23 from the free throw line after halftime.
The two teams exchanged the lead seven times in the first half, but WTC took a 33-29 lead into halftime and then came out firing in the second half.
Nick Okorie led SPC with 26 points, while David Tairu added 18, Jonathan Hall had 10, Carlos Dos Santos scored 9, Landon Tatum added 7, Lu Griffin had 6 and Luciano de Souza added 2.
For WTC, Derek Williams had 26 points and Brawley Chisholm added 14.
