David Tairu Named Pre-Season All American for 2008-09 Season

LEVELLAND – South Plains College Texan basketball player David Tairu has been named to the 2008-2009 NJCAA Division I pre-season All-American team.

The 2007-2008 season was a productive one for Tairu as the 6'2" native of Temple Hills, Maryland averaged 14 points per game. He also averaged 4 rebounds and 2 steals per contest.

In the Texans lone contest this season, Tairu scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds.

Tairu and the Texans host the SPC Classic November 7-8 at the Texan Dome. The Texans take on Baltimore City Community College at 7:00PM on Friday, and face Lon Morris at 1:00PM on Saturday.
