South Plains Slows Temple's High Octane Offense

LEVELLAND, Texas - The Temple College Leopards came into Friday nights game versus South Plains averaging almost 106 points per game in five games this season. The Texans held the Leopards to only 77 points, on their way to a 107-77 victory at the Texan Dome.

The Texans jumped on the Leopards early and never looked back, taking a 50-31 lead to the locker room.

Sophomores Hugh Mingo and David Tairu led four Texans scoring in double figures. Mingo scored 24 points and hauled in eight rebounds, while Tairu added 23 points. Freshman forward Bo Ingram scored 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds, and Markhuri Sanders-Frison tallied 16 points, and snagged 11 rebounds of his own. Also for SPC, Myles Walker scored five points, Philip Outley and Tramar Sutherland added four a piece for the Texans. Josip Vranes, Brandon Pitts, Ladarius Hall, Romel Kemp, Antwain Thomas, and Landon Tatum all helped the Texan cause with two points. Tatum led South Plains in assists (6), and steals (3).

South Plains' next game will be against Coastal Bend tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.
