December 5, 2008
Levelland, Texas – The Texans and Lady Texans of South Plains College will be hosting their first Western Junior College Athletic Conference games of the 2008-2009 season tomorrow at the Texan Dome when they face Odessa College.
The Lady Texans (12-2, 1-0) defeated Odessa (11-3, 1-0) 73-66 in the second round of the WJCAC pre-conference tournament on November 21. The stakes are much higher this time as both teams try to improve their conference records to 2-0. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m.
The South Plains men (10-0, 1-0) will be trying to keep their undefeated season intact when they tip-off at 4:00 p.m. The Wranglers (12-0, 1-0) also bring an unblemished record to the Texan Dome.
Fans who come out for this game will see an exciting day of basketball, and be in the presence of a Texan basketball legend. Bo Outlaw, who played for the Texans from 1989-1991 before a 15-year NBA career, will be in attendance and at halftime will be inducted into the WJCAC and Texan Hall of Fames. He will also be signing autographs for fans after the game.
