Sanders-Frison, Mingo Sign With Four Year Schools

LEVELLAND, Texas – Texan basketball players Markhuri Sanders-Frison and Hugh Mingo signed National Letters of Intent to continue their basketball careers with four-year universities.

Sanders-Frison, a 6-foot-8 post from Portland, Oregon, signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the University of California, Berkeley.

When asked why he chose the Golden Bears, Sanders-Frison said, "It is on the West Coast, close to home, and a great program." As for what he has liked about his time at South Plains College, he answered, "I like everything about this place, especially the coaching staff and my teammates."

In three games this season, Sanders-Frison has averaged 16.3 points per game.

Mingo, a 6-3 guard from West Monroe, Louisianna, is going home to finish his collegiate basketball career at the University of Louisianna, Monroe.

"I am excited about the opportunity to continue my basketball career and to be close to my family," Mingo said.

So far this season, Mingo has averaged 15.3 points per game, two steals, and has been accurate from beyond the 3-point line 62.5 percent of the time.
