Texans Defeat Collin 56-45

LEVELLAND – The South Plains College men's basketball team finished 2-0 at the Texan Classic thanks to a 56-45 win over the Collin County Cougars Sunday afternoon at the Texan Dome.

Neither team shot the ball well. SPC (7-2) shot 38.6 percent from the field. Luckily for the Texans, Collin shot only 27.5 percent and was 2 of 17 on 3-point attempts. South Plains had a 27-25 lead at halftime and held the Cougars to just 20 points in the second half.

Lu Griffin led SPC with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Steven Harley added 10 points, Luciana DeSouza scored 8, Nick Okorie had 7, Jermaine Bolden and Constantin Motnii each added 6, Jonathan Hall scored 4 and Jordan Frosch added 2.

For Collin, Nick Shaw finished with 11 points.
