SPC Men Roll Over Mesa 87-69

LEVELLAND — Constantin Motnii scored a career-high 19 points as the South Plains College Texans defeated Mesa (AZ) 87-69 Thursday at the Texan Dome in Levelland.

Motnii made 8 out of 13 shots and pulled down 9 rebounds to lead the way for the Texans, who improved to 4-0. Steven Harley also scored 19 points and dished out 5 assists.

SPC led throughout most of the first half and took a 37-33 lead into halftime. They increased their lead to as much as 9 points early in the second half before Mesa went on a run and took a 2-point lead. But the Texans started pounding the ball inside to Motnii, who scored 12 of his 19 points in the second half.

Five different players scored in double figures for SPC. In addition to Motnii and Harley, Jermaine Bolden had 16 points, and Jonathan Hall and Nick Okorie each added 12. Luciano DeSouza scored 9 points and had 5 rebounds.

For Mesa, Braylon Pickerel hit three 3-pointers and finished with 19 points.
