South Plains Downs Trinidad State 73-58

LEVELLAND – The South Plains College Texans improved to 8-2 with a 73-58 win over Trinidad (CO) State Junior College Saturday afternoon at the Texan Dome.

The Texans will not be back in action until Jan. 2 when they play in the Scottsdale, Ariz., tournament.

Against Trinidad, the Texans forced 24 turnovers and shot 46 percent from the field. SPC led 32-24 at halftime and was up by as many as 21 in the first half before winning by 15.

Steven Harley led SPC with 15 points, while Jermaine Bolden added 13 and Dustin Hawkins came off the bench to score 10. Also for the Texans, Jonathan Hall, Malik Motnii and Nick Okorie all scored seven; Jordan Frosch and Lu Griffin both added four; and Delawn Armwood and Khari Thompson each had three.

For Trinidad, Joe Fisher scored 11 and Kevin Daugherty added 10.
