SPC Women Defeat Arizona Western

YUMA, Ariz. – The South Plains College continued their winnings ways Friday with a 71-55 victory over Arizona Western College at the Wells Fargo Classic in Yuma, Ariz.

The Lady Texans (13-2), who have now won 11 straight games, shot 62 percent from the floor in the first half to open up a 39-27 lead at halftime.

For the second straight night, four players scored in double figures. Mariame Djouara led the way with 19 points, while Ashley Frazier had 13 points and 9 assists, Chasity Workman scored 12 and Brittany Blackmon had 11.

Also for the Lady Texans, Shaniqua Henderson had 6 points and 10 rebounds, Krystal Davis and McKinsie East both scored 4 and Rachel Gray added 2.
