SPC Women Defeat Clarendon

Three players scored in double figures as the South Plains College Lady Texans stayed atop the WJCAC standings with a 63-48 win over the Clarendon College Lady Bulldogs Monday at the Texan Dome.

It was Think Pink Night as the Lady Texans teamed up with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and Covenant Hospital of Levelland to promote breast cancer awareness. Both teams were pink in warmups and fans were encouraged to wear pink to the game.

The Lady Texans(21-3 overall, 10-1 conference) started out cold from the field in the first half, hitting just 12 of their 32 shots. They still managed to take a 31-23 lead into halftime.

While they never completely ran away from the Bulldogs in the second half, they were able to stretch their lead to the final margin of 15.
