Lady Texans Open 2008 With Win
MESA, Ariz – After almost a month of no games, the South Plains College Lady Texans picked up where they left off, picking up their ninth-straight win in a 75-48 victory over Mesa (AZ) College Wednesday night.
The Lady Texans (11-2) had not played a game since Dec. 6, but the team showed little signs of rust as three players scored in double figures and four players pulled down double-digit rebounds. SPC finished with 67 total rebounds including 31 offensive boards.
Brittany Blackmon led South Plains with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Ashley Frazier added 14 points, Mariame Djouara had 10 points and 10 rebounds, Chasity Workman had eight points and 11 rebounds, Rachel Gray scored seven, Shaniqua Henderson had six points and 14 rebounds, Lindsey Lawless chipped in five points, Krystal Davis scored four, Haruka Nagado added three and McKinsie East had two. The Lady Texans led 36-15 at halftime.
South Plains will continue their four-game roadtrip in Arizona Thursday night with a game at Scottsdale College.
