Lady Texans Whip Lady T-Birds 71-45
HOBBS, N.M. – The South Plains College Lady Texans raced out to an 18-2 lead and never looked back in a 71-45 win over New Mexico Junior College Monday in Hobbs, N.M.
The win was the 16th straight for the Lady Texans and improved their record to 18-2 overall and 7-0 in WJCAC play.
NMJC (3-19, 1-6) scored the first two points of the game, but didn't score another point for more than 9 minutes of the first half. By then, the Lady Texans had already built a 16-point lead. SPC held the Lady T-Birds to just 28 percent shooting for the game. South Plains led 39-19 at halftime.
Ashley Frazier led SPC with 13 points, while Brittany Blackmon and Mariame Djouara both added 12. McKinsie East and Chasity Workman each scored 8, Haruka Nagado and Krystal Davis both added 7 and Rachel Gray scored 4.
For NMJC, Malorie Marshall led the way with 14 points.
