Lady Texans Upset No. 1 Seward 69-54
LIBERAL, Kan. – The No. 23 ranked South Plains College Lady Texans knocked off the No. 1 JUCO team in the nation Friday, beating Seward (Kan.) 69-54 on the Lady Saints' home floor in the first game of the Seward Wendy's Classic in Liberal, Kan.
South Plains (4-2) raced out to an early lead and never looked back. The Lady Texans never trailed in the game and took a 26-19 lead into halftime.
Brittany Blackmon poured in 22 points to pace SPC, while Krystal Davis added 17, Ashley Frazier had 10, Chasity Workman scored 7, Shaniqua Henderson had 2 points and 12 rebounds, and Rachel Gray added 2 points.
The Lady Texans will wrap up the Wendy's Classic Saturday with a 2 p.m., game against Pratt.
