Lady Texans Fall To Temple
TEMPLE – The South Plains College Lady Texans started a three-game roadtrip with a tough 64-62 loss to the Temple College Lady Leopards Thursday in Temple.
South Plains (2-1) had averaged 94.5 points in their first two games of the year, but Temple's defense was able to shut down SPC's two leading scorers. Mariame Djouara and Brittany Blackmon were both held to 8 points.
Ashley Frazier led the Lady Texans with 17 points, while Shaniqua Henderson added 16, Blackmon and Djouara each had 8, Krystal Davis added 7 and Chasity Workman scored 6. Davis added 11 rebounds and Henderson had 10 boards.
South Plains will play in the Angelina Classic the next two days in Lufkin. SPC takes on Angelina College Friday night at 8 p.m., then meets Panola College Saturday at 1 p.m.
