Lady Texans Dominate Eastern Arizona; Improve Record to 8-0

ODESSA, Texas - The South Plains College women's basketball team dominated their competition from the opening tip and never looked back as they defeated Eastern Arizona 88-37 Saturday afternoon at Odessa College.

The Lady Texans had four players score in double figures, led by freshman post Taniqua Ards 19 points, and four blocked shots. Sajoyia Griffin added 13 points and contributed defensively with five steals, while Briana Goss tallied a double-double, scoring 11 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Dayon Hall-Jones had 10 points and four steals. Also for SPC, Chasity Workman and McKinsie East scored nine points each, Christen McLee added seven, Tasheena Byrd scored six, Rachel Gray added three points, and Lashanda Luckey scored one.

The Lady Texans will travel to Midland for the WJCAC Pre-conference tournament, scheduled for November 20-22. Their first game will be against New Mexico JC on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Midland College.
