Lady Texans Use Strong Second Half to Defeat San Jacinto

ODESSA, Texas - The South Plains College Lady Texans remained undefeated by defeating San Jacinto College 70-45 on the first day of the Odessa College tournament.
The Lady Texans (7-0) only led by two points at halftime, but dominated the second half by outscoring San Jacinto by 23 points.
Sophomore post McKinsie East led 12th ranked South Plains in scoring with 20 points, and also pulled down six rebounds and contributed defensively with three steals. Taniqua Ards added 19 points and seven rebounds, while Dayon Hall-Jones scored nine points. Also for SPC, sophomore Briana Goss scored six points and Sajoyia Griffin, Rachel Gray, Chasity Workman, and Samiesha Williams all added four points each for the Lady Texans. Sajoyia Griffin led the Lady Texans in steals with five.
The Lady Texans play Eastern Arizona at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow.
