Lady Texans Rout Clarendon 88-58

LEVELLAND – The No. 1 ranked South Plains College Lady Texans used a 34-4 first half run to race past Clarendon College 88-58 in a WJCAC game Monday at the Texan Dome.

South Plains (20-0 overall, 4-0 conference) trailed 5-0 early, then scored the next 10 points and continued their run to go ahead 34-9. The Lady Texans made 22 field goals in the first half and led 49-22 at halftime.

The SPC lead grew to as much as 35 in the second half as A.J. Adams hit a pair of 3-pointers and Dominic Seals scored three straight field goals in the paint.

Five players scored in double figures for South Plains. Adams finished with 17 points and hit five 3-pointers, Ashlee Roberson and Seals both added 15 points, Mariame Djouara scored 14 and Brittany Blackmon had 12. Also for SPC, Krystal Davis scored 8 and Ashley Frazier had 7.

For Clarendon, DeDe Conley led the way with 13 points.

South Plains will be back at home on Thursday to host No. 5 Odessa College at 5:50 p.m.
