Preseason Poll Has Lady Texans Second

The South Plains College Lady Texans have been picked to finish second in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference by the league coaches.

Odessa College, who advanced all the way to the national championship game last season, is picked first, while SPC is second, Midland College is third and New Mexico Junior College is fourth. Frank Phillips College has been picked to finish fifth, Clarendon College is sixth, Howard College is seventh and Western Texas College is eighth.

The Lady Texans went 25-6 last year and advanced to the Region V championship game. They return four players including All-Conference selections Dominic Seals and Alana Rumph, both of whom have already committed to Texas Tech University.

SPC's season will begin Nov. 2-4 when they host the Breakfast Rotary Club Tournament at the Texan Dome.
