South Plains Knocks Off No. 9 UA-Fort Smith

FORT SMITH, Ark. – The No. 15 ranked South Plains College Lady Texans defeated their second Top 10 team of the season when they knocked off No. 9 UA-Fort Smith 81-55 Saturday in the Fort Smith Classic.

The Lady Texans (8-0) had already beaten No. 8 Central Arizona at home earlier this season. Now, they have a road win over a highly ranked team which should move SPC up in the NJCAA rankings when they are released next week.

South Plains raced out to a 35-20 halftime lead. Four different Lady Texans scored in double figures. Mariame Djouara led the way with 19 points, Brittany Blackmon added 18 points and 12 rebounds, Ashley Frazier had 14 points and 8 assists and A.J. Adams added 12 points.

Also for SPC, Ashlee Roberson and Dominic Seals both scored 6 points, and Ashely Malone and Courtney Miller each added 3.
