What to expect

Here at South Plains College we strive to give students all the essentials to help them succeed in their field.  Students of Auto Collision use state-of-the-art equipment that keep them up-to-date on all the new procedures and products in the workplace.  Our high tech facility is more than 13,000 sq ft and includes two down draft paint booths, two body repair areas and a full line of tools and accessories to complete any repair.  We also have an industry standard Blackhawk 4000L drive-on frame rack which is equipped with an XYZ laser measuring system.  

In Fall 2006, our classroom was updated with new flat screen computers for each student to study, write estimates and take certification courses on.  We teach a course in estimating and offer a certification thru the ADP Estimating Program.

Our lessons are taken from the course book and/or industry standards and taught by trial-and-error, hands-on instruction.   Students are allowed to work on customers vehicles after learning and showing proper knowledge of skills.  During this time many techniques are tested, reviewed and fine tuned  to ensure each student is proficient and primed for the workplace.
