PRINCIPLES OF
ACCOUNTING II (3:3:0) |
Prerequisite: ACCT 2301 with a minimum grade of "C" or equivalent. The second course in principles of accounting. Corporation, cost accounting, assets, bonds, stocks, and theory of accounting: interpretation of financial statements through ratios and other analyses. Emphasis is placed on financial and managerial elements. |

ACNT 1303 (3:3:0) INTRODUCTION TO ACCOUNTING I |
This course is a study of analyzing, classifying, and recording business transactions in a manual and computerized environment. Understanding the compete accounting cycle and preparing financial statements, bank reconciliation, and payroll are emphasized. |

ACNT 1304 (3:3:0) INTRODUCTION TO ACCOUNTING II |
Prerequisite: "C" or better in ACNT 1303. This course is a study of accounting for merchandising, notes payable, notes receivable, valuation of receivables and equipment, and valuation of inventories in a manual and computerized environment. |

This course is a study of payroll procedures, taxing entities, and reporting requirements of local, state, and federal taxing authorities in a manual and computerized environment. |

ACNT 1311(3:3:1) INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTERIZED ACCOUNTING |
Prerequisite: 3 hours of accounting or consent of instructor. This course is an introduction to utilizing the computer in maintaining accounting records, making management decisions, and processing common business applications with primary emphasis on a general ledger package. |

Prerequisite: ACNT 1304 with a "C" or better and consent of instructor. This course provides a basic, intermediate, or advanced type of non-health professions work-based instruction that helps students synthesize a new knowledge, apply previous knowledge, or gain experience managing the workflow. Practical experience is simultaneously related to theory. Direct supervision is provided by the faculty or the work supervisor. An internship may be paid or unpaid learning experience. |

Prerequisite: Approval of program advisor. This course is a learning experience that allows students to apply broad knowledge of the accounting profession through discipline specific projects involving the integration of individuals and teams performing activities to simulate workplace situations. |

This is a course designed to introduce the student to the basic marketing functions, identification of consumer and organizational needs, explanation of economic, psychological, sociological, and global issues, and description and analysis of the importance of marketing research. |

This course is an overview of the selling process. Identification of the elements of the communication process between buyers and sellers and examination of the legal and ethical issues of organizations which affect salespeople are covered. |

This course introduces the fundamentals of medical transcription with hands-on experience in transcribing physician dictation including basic consultations, operative reports, and other medical reports, utilizing transcribing and information processing equipment compatible with industry standards. The course is designed to develop speed and accuracy. |

Prerequisite: Proficiency in word processing software. This course provides an in-depth coverage of desktop publishing terminology, text editing, and use of design principles to create publishing material using work processing desktop publishing features. Emphasis is placed on layout techniques, graphics, and multiple page displays, and business applications. |

Prerequisite: POFI 2401 or COSC 1401 with a minimum grade of "C". This is a course covering advanced applications in merging, macros, graphics, and desktop publishing. The course includes extensive formatting for technical documents. Emphasis is placed on business applications. |

This course provides skill development in the use of electronic calculators and business mathematical functions. Emphasis is placed on business problem-solving skills using spreadsheet software and/or electronic calculator/keyboard. |
