| Located in San Juan and Uncompahgre National Forests the Lizard Head Wilderness Area encompasses 41,193 acres of wilderness with elevations ranging from 9,000 to 14,246 feet. This wilderness area, in south western Colorado, includes three of Colorado's 14k foot peaks. Human use is light on about 37 miles of strenuous trails. |
