Jim Majorowski will take appointments to register new students on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.  No appointments the week of Thanksgiving or the week of December 14th.  We will be closed December 21st through January 4th.

This program is designed to prepare students for a career in emergency medical services.  The multiple-entry/multiple-exit program prepares students for all levels of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.  Additionally, the program can assist students in preparation for an allied health baccalaureate degree or for career advancement and mobility in related health care occupations.

Students completing EMSP 1501 and EMSP 1160 may apply for EMT-Basic certification.  Students completing all certification course requirements are eligible to apply for certification, by examination, from the Texas Department of State Health Services or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.  Students completing the first certificate may apply for EMT-Intermediate certification.  Students completing the second certificate may apply for EMT-Paramedic certification.  Students completing additional technical and general education courses will earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Emergency Medical Services which broadens their educational and career opportunities.

All courses are approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services.  Course work leading to eligibility for EMT-Paramedic certification is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
