The Electronic and Manufacturing Technologies Program includes Robotics as part of the Electronics Curriculum.

TIN MAN

The Final EXAM for each semester is a Robot Battle known as THE TIN MAN COMPETITION.

Be advised... This is a battle, not a Challenge, not a Race, Not a Task... Two Robots enter... One leaves.

Each team (The Blue Team, and the Orange Team) is given an identical box of parts to use, and can only use what is in the box. (This is called the ROBOX).

Additionally each team is allowed to donate up to 2 items to enhance their robot with (Subject to Instructor approval).

TIN MAN is open to the public.

It is held at the Reese Technology Center Building 6.

We expect it to take approximately 1/2 hour for Prep time and 1/2 hour for the battle... More or less.

At the end of the 1/2 hour battle if no Robot has fallen, a panel of 3 Judges will decide the winner... We hope they are not needed :-)

The Winning Team takes the TIN MAN Trophy to their campus Along with what is left of the defeated robot to display (and Humiliate) until the next semesters Battle.
