Business Office Outside Sources Coordinator

SUMMARY

Outside Sources Coordinator will provide assistance to students who have an outside source with intent to pay a student’s tuition and fees and will bill these entities and may assist as needed in other business office duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Award student accounts with the necessary funding provided by outside sources

Bill all of the outside sources after the 20th class day for student tuition and fees.

Award student accounts and journal all cash deposits involving VA benefits.

Work with area high schools that will be funding dual credit classes and award

the students accordingly.

Relieve cashiers and balance cash drawer as needed.

Receipt payments from students, South Plains College departments, and external agencies.

Answer phone inquiries from students and prospective students.

Help assist students during pre-registration, registration, and dual credit registration.

Audit financial aid short-term emergency  loans.

Assist with billing, filing, and data entry as needed.

Assist students with questions pertaining to the 1098T form.

Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Student Business Services.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum High School diploma or GED certificate.   Cashiering experience and accounting knowledge is preferred. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to effectively respond to questions from faculty, agencies, students, and the public is essential.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to use a calculator for multiple purposes is required.

REASONING ABILITY

The applicant must be able to follow directions (either written or oral) and solve problems.
