South Plains College
2001-2002 Self-Study Report

In the following report, the Steering Committee of the South Plains College's Self-Study for Reaffirmation of Accreditation formally presents the findings of the Self-Study committees' evaluations and analyses conducted during the 2001-2002 school year. For examination purposes, the six Principal Committees, composed of 103 faculty, staff and administrators, applied to our institution the specific "must" statements from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools' Criteria. Collectively, the committees made 18 recommendations and 26 suggestions, which may be found in Sections Three through Six. These recommendations are summarized at the end of each section and also are contained in the Addendum.

The Self-Study report reflects South Plains College as a vibrant, progressive institution that places the student first. These evaluations, recommendations and suggestions enable our institution to respond to the needs of the students, faculty, staff, and administration; all of these findings consequently will lead us to a better position of providing quality education to the citizens of the South Plains.

During the week of November 11th through the 14th, the whole campus looks forward to the Southern Association's Reaffirmation Committee's site visit, at which time evaluators will confirm our committees' findings and provide further guidance for improving our institution's goals and progress.

The format for this Study is a downloadable PDF. An HTML version of the report will be placed on-line in the near future.
