Prerequisites:

Successful completion of MATH 1314 or consent of the instructor.

                                    

Purpose of Course:          

Topics include functions, limits, continuity, differentiation of algebraic functions, applications of the derivative, differentials, indefinite integrals, definite integrals, and applications of definite integrals.

           

Textbook & Calculator:       

Thomas/Finney Media Upgrade 11th Edition, by Thomas & Finney, and TI-85 or higher calculator.

  

Attendance:            

Attendance and effort are the most important activities for success in this course.  Records of your attendance will be maintained.  Whenever absences become excessive and, in the instructor’s opinion, minimum course objectives cannot be met, the instructor may administratively withdraw you from the course with a grade of X or F.  Refer to the General Catalog under Class Attendance and Drops & Withdrawals.

Video Tapes for many of the topics in this course are available in the Math Department Video Lab, in Room 116, or in building 2 at the Reese campus.  You are encouraged to view theses tapes, check them out, and/or duplicate them.
