South Plains College will honor 10 retirees on Dec. 15

 

LEVELLAND – South Plains College will bid farewell to 10 employees who are retiring during the 2017 academic year. These employees combined for 244 years of service to SPC and each played a vital role in the success the college as well as the thousands of students that pass through its doors each year. 

 

The retirees will be honored with a reception at 10 a.m. Dec. 15 (Friday) in the Student Services Building.

 

The retirees are Mike Carraway, Kathy Holster, Jay Lemon, Camille Lewis, Teresa Martinez, Mollie Melton, Cathy Mitchell, Yolanda Morin, DeAnna Nowell and Sally Robinson.

 

Carraway, Associate Professor in Commercial Music, retires with 18 years of service. He began working at South Plains College on Jan. 19, 1999. He will end his service on Dec. 31, 2017.

 

Holston, Assistant professor of Mathematics, retired with 13 years of service. She began her career at SPC on Aug. 18, 2004. She ended her service on July 12, 2017.

 

Lemon, Professor of Commercial Music, retires with 26 years of service. He began his career at SPC on Sept. 3, 1991. His service will end on Dec. 31.

 

Lewis, Advisor at the SPC Plainview Center, retires with 10 years of service. She started working at the college on Aug. 27, 2007. Her last day of service will be Dec. 31, 2017.

 

Martinez, Course Date Manager, retired with 35 years of service. She began working at SPC on Aug. 28, 1982. She ended her service on July 31, 2017.

 

Melton, Professor of Human Services and Rehabilitation Science, retired with 30 years of service. She started working for the college on Aug. 18, 1988. She ended her service on July 31, 2017.

 

Mitchell, Vice President for Student Affairs, retired with 17 years of service. She began her career at SPC on June 1, 2000. She ended her service on June 30, 2017.

 

Morin, Custodian Supervisor, retires with 30 years of service. She started working for the college on Sept. 12, 1988. She will end her service on Jan. 19, 2018.

 

Nowell, Warehouse/Inventory, retired with 34 years of service. She began working at SPC on Nov. 28, 1983. She ended her service on Aug. 18, 2017.

 

Robinson, Professor of Mathematics, retires with 31 years of service. She started working for the college on Jan. 6, 1986. She will end her service on Dec. 31, 2017.
