South Plains College to offer NRA Women’s Basic Pistol class Sept. 16-17

LEVELLAND – South Plains College’s Division of Continuing and Distance Education will offer a NRA Women’s Basic Pistol class Sept. 16-17 in the Law Enforcement Technology Building. The class will meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. on Sept. 16 (Saturday) and 1-5 p.m.. on Sept. 17 (Sunday).

The class costs $85, and Audra Dyer will be the instructor.

This class will focus on firearm safety, how ammunition and handguns work, different types of handguns, handgun terminology, cleaning handguns, proper shooting skills, purchasing a new or used handgun and available shooting opportunities.

This two-day class is great for anyone, regardless of shooting experience, and all equipment is provided (including ammo and handguns). This is a fabulous opportunity to become familiar with handguns for individuals with little or no experience.

Students will be given the opportunity to shoot various calibers and actions at the end of class, time permitting, for an additional $10 fee (payable the day of class).
