Cast announced for SPC Theatre’s production of ‘On the Air’ 

 

LEVELLAND – South Plains College Theatre will present the summer musical “On the Air,” a nostalgiaspoof review of the Golden Age of Radio. The show will run June 28-30 and July 1 in the Helen DeVitt Jones Theatre. 

Evening performances are set for 7:30 p.m.. on June 28-30. On July 1, a matinee is set for 2 p.m.. Tickets will cost two for $25, $15 for adults and $10 for all students. 

The production is directed by Dr. Daniel Nazworth, assistant professor of Theatre Arts.  

The cast includes Nevah Flores, Haley Perez, Cadyn Cypert, Tamara Coghlan, Scott Alford, Thomas Nazworth, Michael Wiiest, Chandlar Head and Caleb Scoggins. Also, Dr. Debbie Gelber, music director; Susan Nazworth, stage manager; Randal Ramirez, sound; Taylor Hicklen, lights; and Costumes by Costume Holiday House.

The show was conceived and written by Peter Palame with music by Neil Fishman and lyrics by Harvey Edelman.

The audience is part of a radio studio broadcast audience in this inventive, hilarious salute to 1940’s radio, complete with all original songs, serials, and even commercials, written in forties style with an off-the-wall modern perspective. This show, which had a successful New York Off-Broadway cabaret run, will have your audiences requesting an encore for years to come.
