South Plains College slates Tin Man Robot competition on Dec. 8

 

REESE CENTER – South Plains College Reese Center will host the SPC Robotics Class Tin-Man Robot competition with doors opening at 5 p.m.., and the first battle starts at 6:30 p.m.. on Dec. 8 (Friday) in Building 6. 

There is no admission charge and the public is invited to attend. 

The Tin-Man competition features student-built robots complete with weaponry designed to disable the other bots. The teams that survive the preliminary rounds move into the finals. The students are allowed to perform on-site repairs during the event.   

The competition features teams from the SPC Levelland campus, the SPC Reese Center campus and the SPC Plainview campus as well as high school teams from surrounding towns.   

The winner will be determined by a panel of judges.
