The Plainsman Press is the official student newspaper of
South Plains College, a public, two-year community college created in
1958 by the citizens of Hockley County. The college employees
approximately 700 faculty, staff, and administrators.
The college offers educational programs in the arts and
sciences, technical education, continuing education, and workforce
development. There are currently more than 9,000 students enrolled at
SPC. The average student is 24 years old, and approximately 33 percent
are classified as minorities.
Currently 1,700 copies of the tabloid-size news-paper are
distributed bi-weekly at the Levelland and Reese campuses. |
