School attire, comfy vs. classy
by Lyndsey Wolf, staff writer
So many people make comments about
students wearing pajamas to class. Have you ever put any
thought into it and wondered why people wear their pajamas,
and if it bothers you? I think being able to wear your
pajamas to school is awesome.
I went to a really strict high school,
We had to dress up every day, and we had a very strict dress
code. I think wearing your pajamas is very convenient for
students. College consists of a lot of tough times, such as
learning how to wake yourself up for class, partying, and
lots of homework.
Because I wear my pajamas to class, it
saves me a lot of time and money. I take a shower every
night, roll out of bed, then drive to class. When I do get
dressed up, it takes me more than an hour to get ready. I
don’t like waking up extra early for class, and I think that
if people don’t like you for who you are, then they don’t
matter anyway.
Yes, I did just make myself seem very
lazy. That makes me laugh, because that is true when it
comes to waking up early and going to class. But I also
think it’s strange to wear pajamas, because our professors
dress up every day for class and look very professional. I
think that if they have to dress professional, we should
too, so we can all act like we our in a professional
learning environment.
Students pay for college, though, and
we are here to learn. So I think that we should dress
however we want. I must admit that when I do take the time
to get up and dress nice, I feel so much better about my day
and I have so much more confidence. It’s like you carry
yourself differently when you look nice, and you wear a
bigger smile on your face.
When you are in relaxing sleep clothes,
it gives off the mood that you are tired, relaxed, or lazy.
People even ask me if I am sick when I wear my pajamas, a
ponytail, and no make up. Everyone has different opinions on
this subject, and I am actually trying to figure out what I
think through writing this article.
Think about when you wear your pajamas
all week, then one day you get up early and decide you want
to dress up and look your best for school. Think about how
many compliments you receive. It’s such a nice feeling.
I had a teacher in school once who told
me to dress up and look my best on test days and I will do
better, and be more alert, and have a better chance, and
being able to concentrate and pay attention. I strongly
believe that.
If you have never dressed up to go to
class, I encourage you to do so. Try this little experiment
and see what you think.

society demands something more than this,” Mark Twain.
