Favre's legend grows with Vikings
by Garrett Sanders, staff

Many say he is one of the best
quarterbacks around, with some even arguing that he is
possibly the best to have played the game.
He has worn four different jerseys
during the past 17 seasons, including one that he wore for
15 of those seasons.
He has played for the New York Jets,
Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons, and now he wears the
purple and gold of the Minnesota Vikings. If you do not know
who this living legend is yet, it is Brett Favre, the man,
the myth, the legend.
Favre’s career has been one that gained
the attention of NFL fans from the start. He has played in
four Pro Bowls, all with the Green Bay Packers, and he
helped the Packers win Super Bowl XXXI in 1997.
Favre was pushed into retirement by the
team he gave so much blood, sweat and tears to for the
previous 15 seasons, the Packers.
After leaving the Packers at the end of
the 2007 season, he announced and then retracted his
retirement. He then signed a contract to play for the New
York Jets, starting16 games. He also completed 343 out of
522 of his passes for a total of 3,472 yards and 22
touchdowns. He then decided to retire again after the 2008
season, before changing his mind again.
This year, Favre was picked up by
Minnesota to play with a two-year contract for $25 million.
So far this year, Favre is playing just
as well as he did as he did during his last season with
Green Bay.
Favre and the Vikings have already
defeated Green Bay this year, and the “cheese heads” are not
to happy about that.
Many of the Packer fans are upset, not
with the head guys for the Packers, but with Favre for not
actually retiring.
Yeah, the guy has retired and came out
of retirement twice in the past two seasons. But I believe
that if someone wants to do something bad enough, then there
is not any way that you can make him leave it behind.
To me, Favre represents football at its
finest. He is the past and present of football. He is a
revolutionary.
