MMA brings reality to fighting

To most people, wrestling
is just fighting, another sports event.
But what some people don't
seem to realize is that wrestling comes from ancient martial
arts. Wrestling is basically between two people trying to
get a grip on one another to take control and then to take
the other one down.
Rodeo teams ride toward end of fall season with region
rankings

The South Plains College
men’s and women’s rodeo teams are doing well as the fall
season draws to a close.
The rodeo teams went to
Vernon to compete on Oct. 8-10. The women’s team scored 235
team points, placing third overall. The men's team scored 60
team points.
Cross Country teams dominate San Angelo, Subway meets

Texans took home the team title after competing at the ASU
Blue and Gold Classic in San Angelo.
The Lady Texans narrowly
missed the team title at the Oct. 13 meet after scoring 40
team points, two points behind Angelo State.
'Meet the Texans' offers students opportunity to get
involved

The 2009 South Plains College Texans and Lady Texans
basketball teams will be showcased during the annual Meet
the Texans event.
The event is scheduled for Nov. 4, with the Grill & Chill
cook-off starting at 5 p.m. At 6 p.m., students will be
introduced to the Texan and Lady Texan players, with an
actual game beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Many say he is one of the
best quarterbacks around, with some even arguing that he is
possibly the best to have played the game.
He has worn four different
jerseys during the past 17 seasons, including one that he
wore for 15 of those seasons.
