Most college students can be assured that they will have opportunities to practice skills learned in the classroom without much fear of what may happen if they make a mistake.

For nursing students, practicing the skills needed to work in a hospital is commonly done with live patients. Any mistake, such as administering the wrong medication or mistreating a wound, could result in dire consequences.
