Two Lubbock friends form new record label

by Zac Morris, staff writer

Lubbock has become home to a new record label, formed by two guys who simply love music.

Abe Casarez and Jaxson Williams recently established Broken Heart, “a label for musicians.”

The two met at Table Nine’s Battle of the Bands, but they want to let everyone know that they are in no way associated with Table Nine. From this meeting came a mutual reason for starting this label. Both agreed that they were, “Sick of the direction the Lubbock music scene was going and wanted to bring about a change,” according to Casarez.

Johnson's "Dreams" CD sweet

by Chelsea Goldston, staff writer

Yes, Jack Johnson’s third headline album - In Between Dreams - is finally here.  Trust me; it was well worth the wait.  This album is definitely a must buy.  There’s a more upbeat tempo mixed, with his classic mellow moments, as well as a bit of French style with “Belle”, though Johnson does not leave his comfort zone.
