Shed Travels 'Glory Road' to Success

he story of the 1966 Texas Western basketball team is no longer a secret thanks to Hollywood and their depiction of “Glory Road”, a movie and story about five black men who started in a collegiate basketball game for the first time ever and won the coveted Naismith Trophy.

 

Lady Texans End Season in Region Championship Game

After finishing fourth at the national tournament a year ago, a repeat performance was not meant to be for the South Plains College Lady Texans this season.  SPC’s season came to an end on March 12, after a strong finish by the team and a run to the Championship game of the NJCAA Region V Tournament, finishing 25-6

The South Plains College men’s basketball team finished the season in a flourish before coming up short in the semi finals of the NJCAA Region V tournament.

Seriously. The last two seasons have been full of pain and heartbreak for Johnson. After finishing fifth in the standings in 2004 and then losing by eight points last season, Johnson is ready for a championship. So am I.

Sharp's Retirement Hardly Surprising

If someone were to tell me before the basketball season that a Hall of Fame coach in Texas was planning on retiring at the end of the season, I probably would not have guessed it would be Texas Tech’s woman’s basketball coach Marsha Sharp.
