The South Plains College Lady Texans recently wrapped up their season with a 31-4 record and a fourth place finish in the NJCAA National Tournament.

Meeting the real Coach Carter

If you’ve seen the movie “Coach Carter,” you know that Ken Carter is a no nonsense guy. 

In only his second year as head coach at Richmond High School in California, Carter made national news by locking his basketball team out of the gym until they improved their grades.  On April 13, Coach Carter spoke at Texas Tech University about life and success.

Too young to play in the NBA?

At this moment, the NBA is having conversations about whether or not to implement an age restriction on incoming rookies. If the rule is indeed put in place, players younger than 20 years of age cannot play in the NBA.

Lisle inks letter of intent with Tarleton State University

Lady Texan basketball player Tara Lisle signed a letter of intent to play for Tarleton State University in Stephenville on April 13 in the Texan Dome.

Morris named WJCAC Player of the Year

With the South Plains College Lady Texans winning their first WJCAC title since 2002 and a fourth place finish in the 2005 NJCAA National Tournament, it was only a matter of time before the awards starting coming in.
