Ceremony set to honor fallen peace officers

Last year, 154 peace officers nationwide lost their lives in the line of duty of those, 14 were from Texas.

In memory of those lives, South Plains College’s law enforcement program is hosting the 11th Annual Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony on May 4 at 10 a.m. by the flagpoles in front of the main entrance.

Student Government Association

receives three awards at state convention

The South Plains College’s Student Government Association returned to the campus with three awards they received at the Texas Student Government Association Convention in Austin.

The SGA team ran and won to host next year’s SGA convention in Fort Worth. They also received the award for the most delegates attending the event out of 52 schools, and received third place in song writing out of 23 schools.

Business students advance to Nationals

Deniese Kidd and Ross Orman, both students at South Plains College, advanced to the National Future Business Leaders of America Leadership Conference.

Johnson hired as new bookstore manager  on Levelland campus

The South Plains College Bookstore on the Levelland campus has acquired a new manager.

On April 1, Lacey Johnson, former bookstore manager at the Reese campus has taken the position.

Johnson has been employed with the Texas Book Company since July 1999. She began working with the Texas Book Company at Frank Phillips College in Borger, where she served as bookstore manager for three and half years.
