set to send 589 students to walk during graduation commencement ceremony
As the
school year comes to an end, 589 students are set to walk across the stage
during the 48th annual graduation commencement ceremony at South
Plains College.
Spring
graduation is set for May 12 in the Texan Dome. The event begins at 10 a.m.
All
individuals participating in the ceremony must attend student orientation on
May 4 at 12:15 p.m. in the Texan Dome. Students may pick up their cap and
gown after orientation in the Admissions and Records office. Caps and gowns
will be distributed through May 11. Students graduating from either the
Reese, ATC, or Plainview campuses need to pick up their cap and gown at the
Reese Center after 2 p.m. on May 4.
On the
day of graduation, all students participating in the ceremony are required
to be present at the P.E. Complex 45 minutes prior to the start of the event
to line-up and receive name cards.
Andrea
Rangel, dean of admissions and records, says, “We encourage all eligible
students to participate in the event.”
The
Radio, Television and Film program at SPC will have VHS tapes or CDs for
sale to all individuals interested in a copy of the graduation ceremony.
