Forget - Me - Not

Farewell and good riddance

I have been at South Plains College for three semesters now, by far my uh...best college experience to date.

Life at SPC has been quite a growing experience. I have learned quite a bit about who I am and who I want to be. Yadda, Yadda ,Yadda, and what not. On a more serious note, I have realized how incredibly stupid some people actually are.

I take this fact into account each time I’m writing an opinion piece. I try to dumb things down so that some people might actually read  the paper and take to heart what I am saying Hey, maybe someone might even write back a Letter to the Editor. Each of  my  attemps have failed miserably. Could this be apathy? Perhaps, but I would rather say it is pure stupidity.

Each time I write an article, I really think about what I am writing, and I ask myself if someone is actually going to take the time to read this. I honestly believe that someone will. My faith in mankind has dwindled since learning the news that no one cares what anyone writes.

People wonder why everything is going wrong with our country right now. It’s because no one takes the time to care. It doesn’t take a second to pick up the paper and read it. Perhaps a slight majority of the student population at South Plains College is illiterate. If that is the case, I apologize. In any other case, there is no excuse for such stupidity. Pick up the paper, its not that hard!

I am ashamed to be known as a member of a student body who could care less about what is happening around their school, or the rest of the world for that matter. I hope that some of you who might actually read this will take heed and maybe change your ways and read! I highly doubt it though.

In all honesty, I’m glad to be writing my farewell piece. I’m moving on to bigger and better things. Not that this hasn’t been a great learning experience, because it has. But it is one that I will forever remember as what not to do.

Farewell to all of you South Plains College readers, if there are any.
