SPC has New Cheerleaders

The 2006-07 South Plains College Texan cheerleading squad recently was announced after tryouts were held in April.

Contestants performed a cheer, dance and jump, as they were evaluated by cheerleader coach Linda McCulloch.

“We had an exceptional group of students that tried out for SPC, and I was very pleased with the talented group of young ladies that will make up our squad this next year”, said McCulloch.  “ I am very proud of our cheerleading program at South Plains College, and I know these young people will represent the school in a positive manner.”

The 2006-07 Texan cheerleaders will be: Erica Carrera from Amarillo, Marcy Fambro from Strawn, Felicia Franco from Lubbock, Abilou Kirk from Idalou, Abbie McLean from Levelland, Jodi Owens from Colorado City, Jessica Ramos from Childress, Trisha Robertson from Muleshoe, Amanda Salazar from Lubbock, Scarlett Sarten from Lubbock, Miranda Strona from Itasca and Garrie Stroope from Hale Center.

Cheerleaders at SPC also serve as ambassadors for the school at various activities, in addition to cheering and performing at SPC athletic events.
