Kipyego Signs with Red Raiders

South Plains College sophomore Sally Kipyego recently signed a
track and field letter of intent to compete for Texas Tech University.
Kipyego won national titles last spring in the 1,500-meter
run, the 5,000-meter run, and the 10,000-meter run at the NJCAA National
Outdoor Track and Field Chompionships.
Kipyego currently holds the SPC record in all three events.
Kipyego set the record in the 1,500-meter run with the time of 4:24.45, the
5,000-meter run record with a time of 16:13.39 and the 10,000-meter run
record with a time of 36:19.92.
She
also won the NJCAA national title in cross county. Kipyego, who is from
Kenya, still holds her high school record in the 5,000 and the 10,000-meter
run.
