Theater production plays on our worst social fears

Imagine you are out on an amazing date at the newest, atmosphere-filled Italian restaurant.

The mood is right, you smell great, your date looks awesome and everything is going wonderfully. The waiter appears to take your order, and as requested, the two of you will share, what will become, the most romantic bowl of spaghetti you have ever experienced.

 

Funnyman Finesse Mitchell visits TTU

Texas Tech University held its grand opening for the Allen Theater Sept. 7 with an absolutely hilarious, though unexpectedly explicit, comedy show with former “Saturday Night Live” entertainer Finesse Mitchell.

 

'Devil Wears Prada' good read, fun movie

It’s the job every girl who knew anything about fashion dreamed of, the assistant to the most powerful woman in the fashion business.

Miranda Priestly is the editor of the prestigious “Runway Magazine,” Andrea Sachs is a young woman, fresh out of college, who is hoping to eventually work for The New Yorker.  Andrea knows nothing about fashion, yet she miraculously lands the job as Miranda’s assistant.

'Beerfest' sloshed with humor

It has been a long time since a decent beer-drinking movie has came along. There have been a great amount of pot-smoking films, but not enough beer-drinking films. “Beerfest” has everything that you want in a beer movie. It has drinking games (beer ping pong and the old favorite, quarters), chugging contests, passing out and boobs for the guys. The majority of the cast are unknowns, but they play the roles of beer drinkers like maybe only

 

Action-packed 'Crank' entertains

As the title suggests, the movie “Crank,” is filled with action and excitement.

The plot of the movie centers on Jason Statham, who plays Chev Chelios, a contract killer who is injected with a “Beijing cocktail,” which upon entering the body gives the person one hour to live. The only way to survive is with mass amounts of adrenaline

Chilli Pepper adds spice to The Mars Volta

The Mars Volta’s third full length album, “Amputechture” is the best album of the year.

Released on September 12th and was recorded in Los Angeles, Calif., El Paso, Texas and Melbourne, Australia. The album was produced by Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, the guitar player for the band, and mixed by Rich Costey.
