Technology spoiling, crippling generation

Our generation is a truly blessed generation. 

However, we have become to reliant on technology as a whole.  In today’s world, we have iPods, cell phones, and high-tech laptops.  Our parents had to use landline telephones, typewriters, and record players. 

Lower drinking age could generate positive results

Recent controversy about the current drinking age law has been brewing, again.

In 1984, the United States enacted a National Drinking Age Act which did not allow anyone under the age of 21 to purchase, possess or consume alcohol.

Drinking has become a problem with adolescents, not because of the law but because of the uneducated use of alcohol.

Teens not responsible enough to handle lower drinking age

Underage drinking has become a trend among American teenagers.

Some consider it a rite of passage. While not everyone partakes, the ones who do usually are heavy drinkers and get involved in activities such as binge drinking.

The Amethyst Initiative is pushing for the drinking age to be lowered to 18. The motive behind this thinking is that it could hinder the growth of binge drinking among underage drinkers.

Dance classes could prove popular with students

"She likes to move, she likes to groove...” Steve Perry, the lead singer for the ‘80’s band Journey, said it best.

I think there is at least three-quarters of the South Plains College student body that love to dance, whether it’s at a school function, at a club or even in their rooms. So this leads me to one question, why does SPC not have a dance troupe? What about dance classes, in general?
