by Jerrod Carr, staff writer
Our generation is a truly blessed generation.
However, we have become to reliant on

Lower drinking age could generate positive results by John Stewart, sports editor
Recent controversy about the current drinking age law has
been brewing, again.
In 1984, the United States enacted a
National Drinking Age Act which did not allow anyone under
the age of 21 to purchase, possess or consume alcohol.
Drinking has become a problem with
adolescents, not because of the law but because of the
uneducated use of alcohol.
Teens not responsible enough to handle lower drinking age
by Beka Rutledge, entertainment editor
Underage drinking has become a trend among American
teenagers.
Some consider it a rite of passage.
While not everyone partakes, the ones who do usually are
heavy drinkers and get involved in activities such as binge
drinking.
The Amethyst Initiative is pushing for
the drinking age to be lowered to 18. The motive behind this
thinking is that it could hinder the growth of binge
drinking among underage drinkers.

Dance classes could prove popular with students
by Lisa Hernandez, staff writer
"She likes to move, she
likes to groove...” Steve Perry, the lead singer for the
‘80’s band Journey, said it best.
I think there is at least
three-quarters of the South Plains College student body that
love to dance, whether it’s at a school function, at a club
or even in their rooms. So this leads me to one question,
why does SPC not have a dance troupe? What about dance
classes, in general?
